At Islington Baptist Church our vision is to see a growing, multicultural community that is profoundly shaped by God's love for us in Christ, and passionately sharing the good news of Jesus with the city of Newcastle and beyond. We think it's a great blessing to be part of a church like that, and our hope is that you will experience that same blessing as you join in our gatherings and activities and find a place in this community.
Who are we?
As a church, our aim is to make more and more disciples of Jesus, who are growing more and more in love for God and one another. We value seeing people of all ages and from different backgrounds connect and form supportive relationships as we learn to follow Jesus together. We are a very multicultural church, including a significant ministry to the Chinese speaking community across the Hunter region. We also love to see God’s people serving others and being part of God’s mission. That's part of what it means to be shaped by God's love in Jesus!
We're big on teaching the Bible, it shapes everything that we do. In our services and activities we want to create opportunities to hear, understand and respond in faith to what God is saying to us in the Bible. Here at Islington Baptist you'll find a warm, welcoming, Bible-based church, and if you stick around, you'll also have plenty of opportunities to serve, be trained and to make a difference.
