Church Services

Church Services

Sundays 9:30 am | 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month

Islington has a long history of welcoming and integrating Chinese speakers into our multicultural community. Whether you are new to Australia and want to learn English and learn about Jesus, or you have lived here for years and want to connect with other Chinese Christians, you are very welcome.

The Chinese service is held in the downstairs meeting room/lounge space, which is accessed through the church yard. The service is in Mandarin, with a number of Cantonese speaking people also attending.

We encourage all those who attend the Chinese services to also attend the main multicultural service on the other weeks and make use of the various translation options, which include:

  • Live speech to text translation into Chinese (and other languages) accessed through your phone
  • audio translation into Mandarin (using either provided headphones, or your own headphones connected to your phone)
  • Printed Chinese translation of the service program, Bible passages, song lyrics and sermon text
Growth Groups

Growth Groups

On Sundays after church a Mandarin speaking Growth Group meets to explore the Bible and learn to follow Jesus together. After the Bible study there is usually a shared meal with home cooked Chinese food.

We also run a multicultural young students and workers group in English on Wednesday nights where you can study the bible alongside native speakers and others learning English. If you’re interested in joining one of these groups, get in touch to find out more.
