Church Renovations 2016

The Church has decided to provide a fresh new look and welcoming feel to the meeting room where Sunday services are held.  The main work is planned to commence early in 2016, and will include some improvements to access.Special care has been taken to involve those who attend in the decision making process, guided by the Building Works Committee. This has taken time, but has resulted in some good ideas being incorporated, such as the provision of an internal ramp for those mobility needs.  Time is being still taken to allow the Church to make its final decision on seating.

Another room used on the first and third Sunday of the each month by the Chinese speaking people in our congregation will have its audio visual installation completed.

Some concept architectural renderings are shown below that were used during the decision making.  (Thank you Giles Gibbins.)  Expert advice on the Audio Visual has also been provided by A1 Audio and Lighting (Mario and Chris – and Scientific Acoustics (Peter Patrick and Technical Audio Group (Anthony Russo –

We recognise that the real Church is people (in fellowship as members of Christ’s body).  Buildings are not the church.  Our purpose in the renovations is to encourage and facilitate God’s work among real people at Islington, in wider Newcastle and globally for the Kingdom of God.
